My blogger name... "SailorGen"

I wasn't ready to start this blog... only here because I needed a login to post something to a friend's blog. But now that I'm here, this could be fun! I chose my name because I own a beautiful old (1913) wooden boat, a 50 foot P-Class sloop named "Chips" designed by William Starling Burgess, a brilliant MIT engineer who designed 3 America's Cup winners, co-designed the Dymaxion car with Buckminster Fuller, and had 5 wives! He designed the boat to be very fast, which he accomplished by building small models of various hull shapes and racing them in the MIT swimming pool. Even though Chips is 92 years old, she is a rocket and keeps up with 12-meters and modern JY boats, sometimes even when they're flying their spinnakers. We've won lots of Wooden Boat races on Chips and it's always an exciting time.
